Allison Wynn, Client Services Coordinator
Allison’s previous work experience as a Recovery Advocate Supervisor for a large behavioral health company helped to prepare her to become Clear Springs Ranch’s Client Services Coordinator. She is comfortable collaborating with team members to coordinate and carry out performance standards across all aspects of a client’s experience. Allison has training in building trust relationships with clients and dissolving crisis situations, and she really enjoys serving as a Sober Escort when needed. Additionally, she is interested in the integration of 12-Steps with co-occurring process addictions such as eating disorders.
Q: What is your professional title with our organization?
A: Client Services Coordinator
Q: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
A: I’ve heard so much good advice over the years, but one that always resonates with me is from Maya Angelou: “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.”
Q: What one word would the people who know you best use to describe you?
A: I asked a long time friend to describe me because I was having difficulty with this question. She said, “Love.”
Q: What motivated you to choose a career in recovery?
A: I am in recovery myself, and I love to see the change that happens when people begin to work this program. I started volunteering at a facility early in my own recovery. As I became more interested, I wanted to get my foot in the door somewhere to learn even more. I have never looked back since entering the treatment industry. It is amazing to be part of this environment!
Q: Besides working at Clear Springs Ranch, what hobbies, sports, or activities do you enjoy?
A: I am a board member for a nonprofit non-medical detox house called the Light House DTX. I love exploring the outdoors and trying new things!
Q: Is there a personal fact you might share that would be hard for others to guess about you?
A: I’m basically an open book. I’m rather quiet, though, so it may not seem the case.
Q: What’s your favorite movie? What’s your favorite book?
A: Both of these are so hard to answer! I really like Jane Austen books, and “Pride and Prejudice” is both my favorite book and movie. I also enjoy Disney movies!
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to share about your personal story?
A: My sobriety date is May 12, 2011. I absolutely love working in this field. There are so many people losing their battles with addiction. Being able to extend some hope to those who are struggling is such a blessing.
