Brenda MasonBrenda joined Clear Springs Ranch before it opened after 26 years with Aetna Insurance Company and another year as a nurse-staffing manager for a medical professionals’ company, which necessitated her leadership in all aspects of human resources. Brenda’s strong background in human relations and customer service combined with her keen skill with project management helps to keep Clear Springs Ranch’s programs running at full efficiency. Brenda’s professional talent and style serve to reinforce effective communication channels while highlighting the importance of mentoring.


Q: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? 

A: Seek first to understand. Be patient, ask a lot of questions, and don’t rush to conclusions.


Q: What one word would the people who know you best use to describe you?

A: Genuine and Trustworthy 


Q: What motivated you to choose a career in recovery? 

A: This is my retirement job. I moved back to the Waco area, and after retirement, I saw a job posting online for a new treatment center opening. I remember wondering, “What would it be like to work at a treatment center?”


I can honestly say that I love my job and cannot imagine working anywhere else — ever! I love working with clients who want to make a change in their lives. I also love the compassion that everyone in this field has for the clients. 


Q: Besides working at Clear Springs Clear Springs Ranch, what hobbies, sports, or activities do you enjoy? 

A: I love to be outdoors and spend time with family and friends. I also enjoy cooking and hosting family events.


Q: Is there anything else you’d like to share about your personal story?

A: I have learned from working in this field, that there is so much more to life than the material things we desire. I’ve learned the importance of being at peace with yourself and appreciating each day and all that it holds.
